Finger prints left behind help track down robber

Lake Wales, Florida - Lake Wales Police tracked down a robber, thanks to his finger prints left behind at the scene.

Investigators say on August 15, Mark Wayne Jones, Jr. forcefully entered a home by breaking a window, and then removed a $500 flat screen television and a $350 laptop computer from the residence.

The victim told officers he secured his residence around midnight and returned around 3 a.m. to find his home broken into. Finger prints were recovered from the broken window's glass and submitted to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Identification Section.

A few weeks later, tests came back indicating the finger prints belonged to Jones. A witness also provided a sworn statement confirming Jones was trying to sell a TV that matched the description of the stolen one.

Questions linger about PCSO admin's death

Lakeland, Florida -- Friends and family are paying their respects to Bea Dickey during a viewing this evening in Lakeland.

The Plant City woman, who was a high-ranking administrator with the Polk County sheriff's office, was allegedly murdered by her husband over the weekend.

On Facebook: Polk County Sheriff's statement on Bea Dickey's death

At the Morrison funeral home in Lakeland, dozens of Polk County sheriff's cars have lined the front of the building, where along with sadness there are still so many questions.

That's in part because Dickey -- admired by her co-workers and active in the community -- never gave co-workers any indication there was trouble in her home. Other than the fact that investigators have said it was Dickey's own husband who killed her this past weekend, officials have been willing to share little more.
