47 arrested in adult online ad sting | Crime

Polk County, Florida -- During the weekend of Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11, Polk County Sheriff's detectives arrested 47 suspects during an undercover investigation into online adult ads.

During the sting, the suspects, consisting mostly of men, either responded to the ads or met with detectives with the intent to perform sex acts for money.

The sheriff's office says the majority of those arrested were either permanent residents working in, or visiting, Polk County at the time. Charges ranged from Soliciting Prostitution to Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
