Postal service employee steals gift cards from mail | Crime

Winter Haven, Florida -- A Postal Service employee was sentenced Friday to 1 year and 1 day in federal prison for stealing gift cards from the mail.

Court documents revealed from December 2010 to July 11, 2011, Kimberly Hunter worked in Winter Haven as a distribution clerk at the Florence Villa Station.

During that time, Hunter stole approximately 122 known pieces of mail and took gift cards from inside the pieces of mail totaling $5, 147. 

When she was arrested, Hunter had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service for about 15 years.
