Child chained and stabbed released from hospital | Crime

Lake Wales, Florida -- The child who was bound with chains and allegedly stabbed by his mother has been released from the hospital, police say.

Authorities say the 7-year-old boy was released into his father's care from Arnold Palmer Hospital on Sept. 11.

The boy was airlifted to an Orlando hospital Tuesday after police say his mother, Maisa Alvarez, bound his hands together with chains and stabbed him eight to 10 times in the chest.

Alvarez went before a judge on Sept. 12 and currently remains in the Polk County Jail without bond on Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Child Abuse charges.
