Woman brings child shoplifting, pulls knife on officer

Lake Wales, FL -- Lake Wales Police arrested a woman after she was caught shoplifting with a child at a local Bealls.

According to police, on Aug. 13, at 3 p.m., Charity Stephens Faulk, of Dundee, stole items from a Bealls department store while she had a child with her. When Faulk left the store, she was approached by a loss prevention officer who told her to go back to the store.

Faulk ignored the officer, put the child in the car, that was being driven by another person, and pulled a knife on the officer and began waving it around as they drove away.

The officer was able to get the license plate number of the vehicle and 38-year-old Faulk was later found and arrested. She is being charged with Armed Robbery, Child Abuse, and Petit Theft.

The case is still under investigation.
