Man arrested for Polk robbery | Crime
Frostproof, FL -- Detectives arrested an Avon Park man they say robbed a convenience store in Frostproof on Nov. 2.
According to detectives, around 11:45 a.m., 45-year-old Byron Glover entered the Town Star Food Store, located at 7030 US Hwy 27 S., jumped over the counter and pushed the clerk into the cigarette display case.
Glover then used a box cutter and stabbed the clerk in the chest and sliced him on his left cheek, causing a minor cut. Glover then threatened the clerk and demanded money. After grabbing all of the money in the register, Glover fled the area. During their investigation, detectives identified Glover as the suspect.
Glover was spotted later that night on Hopson Road near Lincoln Road wearing the same clothing he wore during the robbery. Glover has a lengthy criminal history from Lake County, Orange County and South Carolina.
He is being charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery, and Resisting without Violence.
