How to prepare for natural disaster | Events

Winter Haven, Florida -- The Polk County Emergency Management Ready Campaign and Citizen Corps Program want to educate and empower residents on preparing for natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks.
On June 1, members of Polk County's Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) will be at the Lakeland Flying Tigers Minor League baseball game, distributing ready materials and will be available to answer any questions from fans.
There will be PSA audio and video messages, trivia questions, games and contests throughout the game to educate fans.
There will be information regarding hurricane preparedness as the beginning of June also marks the beginning of Hurricane season.
The first pitch is at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Flying Tigers at (863) 686-8075 or visiting the stadium box office.
Box seats are $6 and reserved seats are $5 and seniors 55 and over and children 14 and under receive a $1 discount.
Saturday tickets are an additional $1.
Purchase an All-You-Can-Eat ticket for $10 and fill up on hot dogs, hamburgers, Polish sausages, popcorn, pretzels, Cracker Jacks and chips from 6 to 9 p.m. Parking is FREE.
