FEMA Mitigation Specialists to speak in Highlands, Hillsborough & Polk Counties | Health
Tallahassee, Florida-- The Federal Emergency Management Agency, also know as FEMA, teams up with home improvement stores to provide information and advice on cleaning up and rebuilding homes after Tropical Storm Debby.
FEMA mitigation specialists - who can explain disaster-resistant ways to repair and rebuild - will be in Highlands, Hillsborough and Polk counties beginning tomorrow, July 25, a release from the Joint Field Office in Tallahassee explains.
The release says mitigation specialists offer suggestions on cleaning mold and mildew, as well as provide information on flood insurance.
The specialists will be available for questions at events in Tampa, Sebring and Bartow. Event details are as follows:
- Tampa: Disability Expo and Public Forum Wednesday, July 25, from 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. The event is located at the County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa.
- Sebring: Home Depot in Sebring at 2303 U.S. 27 N. July 25 - July 30. The outreach hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Bartow: Lowe's in Bartow at 425 E. Van Fleet Drive August 1 - August 6. The hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
