Polk County pet owners have it a bit easier | News
Polk County, Florida-- According to the Polk County Sheriff's Animal Control Section, a new convenient service for pet owners has been released: online rabies license tag purchases and renewals.
A Polk County ordinance requires all dogs and cats four months or older to wear a county license tag at all times once they have been vaccinated against rabies.
The process of retrieving a tag used to require pet owners to visit Animal Control post vaccination to purchase their pets' rabies license tags, but now, owners also have the option of ordering the tag from the online renewal service for a small fee between $2 and $2.95.
The website will prompt you to provide your Animal ID number listed on the reminder notice (sent on a postcard in the mail), so be sure to have that on hand.
Those that prefer to renew in person can visit the PCSO Animal Control at 7115 de Castro Road, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday hours are from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- If you are purchasing a NEW rabies license tag, it will be mailed to you once your online transaction has been confirmed.
- If you are renewing an EXISTING rabies license tag, you will receive a receipt confirming your rabies license tag renewal by e-mail once your online transaction has been confirmed.
