Police: Man molests minor at transit station, arrested | News

Winter Haven, Florida-- Winter Haven Police arrested 45-year-old Amos Lewis "Sweet Pea" Cowart today for molesting a minor on two separate occasions at the Winter Haven Area Transit (W.H.A.T) Station. 

According to officials, Cowart approached the 15-year-old victim in an intimidating manor, touched the victim inappropriately, and then fled the scene on July 6 and July 10. 

Police say both incidents occurred between 3:30 and 4 p.m., as the victim waited for the bus.

After police issued warrant for Cowart's arrest, they say a W.H.A.T. security guard spotted him walking near Lake Howard Dr. and 7th St., NW around 12:30 this afternoon, and contacted police. 

Reports say Cowart is being charged with two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation.
