Lake Wales man dies in accident on Hwy 27 | News

Lake Wales, FL -- Lake Wales Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at the intersection of Hwy 27 and Hunt Brothers Road Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, at 1:30 p.m., 40-year-old Nathaniel Blandin, of Lake Wales, was heading south on Hwy 27 in a 2001 Saturn when he tried to make a left turn and head east on Hunt Brothers Road.

When Blandin made the turn, the passenger side of Blandin's car was hit by the front of 84-year-old Estrellita Izquierdo's 1999 Saturn, that was heading north on Hwy 27.

Blandin died from his injuries.

Estrellita Izquierdo and her passenger, 93-year-old Raul Izquierdo, both of Frostproof, were taken to Lake Wales Medical Center where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic was diverted for several hours on Hwy 27 during the investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
