Taste Testers try IHOP's "Brioche French Toast"

IHOP's newest menu addition triggered the 10 News Taste Testers to seek out a sampling...and let's just say this breakfast may not have been their "most important meal of the day", but it was definitely their best...

Not one taster could come up with a negative word in relation to the restaurant's new "Brioche French Toast", offered in these three flavors as of Monday, April 15:

Fugitive from New Jersey arrested in Florida

KISSIMMEE, Florida (AP) - Polk County Sheriff's Deputies and officers from a U.S. Marshals task force have arrested a New Jersey fugitive on homicide charges in Florida.

Raymond A. Finch was wanted in Cumberland County, N.J., for the 2007 shooting of a woman and her baby. The woman died from the shooting and the baby survived but was paralyzed.

Recently, the 34-year-old Finch was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Authorities received information that Finch may be in the Kissimmee area.

Man convicted of toddler murder eligible for parole... in 2084

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) - The man convicted in the 1989 murder of a 2-year-old who was dunked head-first into a toilet won't be eligible for parole for another 71 years.

The Florida Parole Commission heard 46-year-old Thomas Coe's case on Wednesday. They set what is called a "presumptive release date" for July 2084.

Coe has been in prison since August 1990 and must serve a mandatory minimum of 25 years. He received a life sentence in the death of stepson Bradley McGee in Polk County.

Officers rule suspicious death in Lake Wales as self defense

Lake Wales, Florida -- The Lake Wales Police Department has ruled the suspicious death in Lake Whales as self defense. 

The body of 57-year-old Joseph Coney was found around 4:00 a.m. April 13 in the roadway area of Dr. J.A. Wiltshire Avenue.

During the course of the investigation a suspect and several witnesses were identified and interviewed. 

Ben Furman admitted his part in shooting Coney, stating that it was in defense of himself.

Rescue crews work to free trapped woman

Polk County, Florida -- Highway 60 was shut down for more than an hour as Polk County Fire Rescue crews worked to free a woman trapped after her vehicle collided with a tree and rolled over.

PCFR received the call shortly after 8 p.m. Friday night on April 12. The crash occurred on a stretch of Hwy 60 between Coronet Road and County Line Road in Mulberry.
