Three arrested for keeping gambling house

Polk County, Florida -- Three men have been arrested after soliciting undercover detectives to come to their gambling house. 

On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, Polk County Sheriff's Office undercover detectives were at the Citgo gas station on US Hwy 17. The detectives who asked them if they would like to engage in a bingo form of gambling in a trailer they had set up. 

Heather's Community Baby Shower helps Alpha House

St. Petersburg, Florida-- Thanks to 10 News viewers in the Bay Area community, we were able to provide a truck full of valuable goods- everything from baby wipes and diapers, to blankets and towels- for Alpha House mothers in need.

Off-duty deputy "a hero" in Winter Haven wreck

Winter Haven, Florida -- A two-month old girl is clinging to life after an accident in Winter Haven this morning.

The wreck is bringing attention to child safety seats, and what can go wrong if they're not installed properly.

In an instant, a routine trip to school became anything but for 27-year-old Keri Radner.

At the corner of Boys Club Road and Havendale Boulevard, investigators say Radner, driving a Chevy Cobalt, turned into the path of a Ford Expedition.

UPDATE: Missing, endangered man found

Auburndale, Florida -- UPDATE: Auburndale Police Department officials say Christopher Cameron was found on Thursday April 18. He is fine and back home with his family.

Auburndale Police is asking for the public's help locating a missing and endangered man who was last seen around 4 p.m. on April 9.

Authorities say 24-year-old Christopher Cameron is prescribed psychiatric medications, which he hasn't been taking, and has a reported alcohol abuse problem.

Polk County, Florida -- Support the creative work of over 5,000 students on April 30. 

The 21st Annual Polk County Public Schools' Video Awards Ceremony will celebrate the work of students from 88 schools. 

The videos will include documentaries, music videos, cool commercials, reporting stories and short films. 

The elementary celebration will be at 5 p.m. while the middle school and high school celebration will begin at 7 p.m. 

The event will be held at Victory Church in Lakeland. 

Classy attire is recommended. 

Three teens from Lake Wales High School in serious accident

Lake Wales, Florida -- Three teenagers from Lake Wales High School were in a serious car accident over the weekend, with one dead from injuries. 

Keyshawn Johnson was driving the Chevrolet Cavalier on April 19 when it crashed, and sustained minor injuries.

A gold Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Keyshawn Johnson, was traveling East on Dr. J A Wiltshire Avenue when he lost control near A Street. 

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the front yard of a residence at 17 W Dr. J A Wiltshire Avenue. Keyshawn Johnson sustained minor injuries.

National Infant Immunization Week begins in Polk

Bartow, Florida -- The Florida Department of Health in Polk County recognizes the week of April 20-27, 2013, as National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW). 

National Infant Immunization Week is an annual observance promoting the benefits of immunization to improve the health of children two-years-old or younger. 

This year's theme is "Immunization: Power to Protect." 

Vaccines are among the most successful and cost-effective public health tools available for preventing disease and death.
