Prostitution suspects arrested after posing with guns

Lakeland, Florida -- Two women previously arrested in an undercover prostitution sting are back in jail after they posted pictures of themselves with guns on their social media sites.

Polk County Sheriff's detectives say once they saw they pictures they notified the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and then arrested 25-year-old Brittany Dodd and 27-year-old Maylee Rossi.

Six tangerine trees stolen out of Winter Haven

Winter Haven, Florida -- Winter Haven Police are asking for the public's help locating the person or persons responsible for stealing six seedless tangerine trees sometime over the past week.

Police say on Feb. 9 around 2:15 p.m., the victim discovered the six trees, valued at $1,000, were missing from property located along Hwy 653 in Winter Haven.

Suspect in stolen manhole cover case caught

Haines City, Florida - Deputies say a 40-year-old Haines City man has been busted for stealing dozens of manhole covers.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says Christopher Fink stole 166 manhole covers from Village 7 in Poinciana. The estimated value of the theft is more than $21,000.

The Toho Water Authority reported the steel covers missing on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The covers were stolen sometime between January 9 and January 23.

Police help with city's shopping cart problem

Winter Haven, Florida -- Apparently a problem with rogue shopping carts being left around the core city area of Winter Haven got so bad the police had to step in. They even have a name for the effort -- Operation Buggy Roundup.

In the first 20 minutes of the project this morning, police say they picked up 13 buggies. They plan to release a final count later today.

ATV joyride through city ends in arrest

Winter Haven, Florida -- A Winter Haven man's decision to take a joyride on an ATV early Wednesday morning landed him in jail.

Winter Haven Police say around 2:36 a.m. on Jan. 2, officers spotted Phillip Robinson on a Honda ATV heading down 6th Street at Ave. L, NW without lights or a tag.

When they tried to stop Robinson, he sped off recklessly. He continued traveling roadways, through numerous parking lots, neighborhoods, and open fields. He was eventually spotted at the Moose Lodge on Havendale Boulevard, approximately 2 miles from where officers saw him.
